In honour of Glasgow’s 850th birthday, bakers across Scotland are invited to craft a showstopping cake that captures the city’s spirit. From iconic landmarks and cultural legends to trade history and tales of the supernatural, your cake should celebrate Glasgow in all its glory.
Will you explore the city’s maritime heritage and its pivotal role in the Atlantic trade? Perhaps pay homage to the Tailors’ Incorporation of 1604, once the largest guild in Glasgow? Or maybe bring one of the city’s notorious ghosts to life through sugar and sponge?
Whatever your vision, this is your chance to bake for a milestone moment.

Entry Deadline: Monday 19th May, 6pm

Cake Delivery: 22nd May, 3pm–5pm at SEC Glasgow
Cakes will be judged on originality, creativity, technical skill and interpretation of theme. Entries must fit within a 38cm x 38cm base — with no height limit. Real cake or dummy bases are accepted and taste will not be judged.
