Laura Hamilton
Laura Hamilton is a dynamic TV presenter, property and travel expert, and entrepreneur who
thrives on staying busy. Best known as one of the faces of Channel 4's A Place in the Sun,
Laura's career spans presenting, property development, and creative business ventures.
Currently embarking on her 20th property renovation project, Laura is taking on the unique
challenge of restoring a home overseas in Mallorca. She is also involved in a Scottish 'property
makeover' which will be set up as a boutique holiday let. Her passion for property began at age
19 when she renovated her first flat, and to date, she has successfully developed 19 properties,
including her own commercial venture, 'Lord Roberts on The Green.' In 2022, she completed her
most ambitious personal renovation, The Rebuild, where she reimagined and future-proofed a
historic property with sustainable technology like solar panels and an air source heat pump.
Beyond property, Laura has ventured into travel media. In 2024, she launched The Mile Fly Club,
her own travel podcast and vodcast, which she co-produces. Following a successful debut
season, Laura is now gearing up for Series 2. Alongside this, she has launched a new online
platform focused on travel, property, and lifestyle. She will be launching a course to teach
others on how make money from property, further cementing her entrepreneurial spirit.
A seasoned traveller, Laura has backpacked across the globe and experienced some of the
world's most luxurious destinations. Filming A Place in the Sun has allowed her to travel
extensively with her children, who have embraced the lifestyle from an early age. Her daughter,
Tahlia, took an incredible 23 flights in her first year!
Laura's television career began behind the scenes at age 18, working on hit shows such as Top
of the Pops, Big Brother, and Harry Potter. Encouraged by Dermot O'Leary and Vernon Kay, she
transitioned to presenting and built an impressive on-screen résumé. In addition to A Place in
the Sun, Laura has hosted Beat My Build (Channel 4), Cowboy Builders and Bodge Jobs (Channel
5), and five series of Fort Boyard (ITV). Fans may also remember her early work on children's
TV, including Nickelodeon's Staraoke and CITV's The Fun Song Factory.
Laura's adventurous spirit led her to participate in ITV's Dancing on Ice, where she was crowned
runner-up in 2011, and Channel 4's The Jump in 2014, just weeks after giving birth to her son
Rocco. Never one to shy away from a challenge, she is now following in her father's footsteps
by training for her private pilot's license.
In 2017, Laura became a community champion when she rescued her local village shop,
transforming it into a thriving café and bistro with a team of 24 staff. After several successful
years, she sold the business, leaving a lasting legacy.
Laura is also an advocate for raising awareness of ITP, an autoimmune condition she was
diagnosed with nine years ago. A firm believer in positivity, Laura is passionate about living life
to the fullest and surrounding herself with like-minded optimists. Whether she's renovating
properties, exploring new destinations, or tackling new challenges, Laura's energy and drive are
nothing short of inspiring.
