Tiling isn't just for the kitchen and bathroom. Take a look at the myriad of ways you can use tiles to add a touch of interest to other rooms in your home.

Blocks of colourful tile designs are an inexpensive, modern way to decorate – think beyond kitchens or bathrooms and tile a dining area or home office to create an interesting look. Wood-effect tiles add rustic appeal and texture – bringing a touch of warmth to the scheme, while mosaic printed tiles will instantly update your living space.

Standout prints on floors

Forget slate, granite or wood flooring and opt for printed tiles instead. Make a bold statement with a mix of geometric patterns, or inject a little vintage style into your scheme with a Moorish pattern or art deco motif.

Bold patterns on walls

Think outside the box when it comes to decorating your walls – it’s easy to create a talking point that doesn’t break the bank. Transform a room with a wall of vibrant-hued or strikingly printed tiles.

Minimalist bathroom tiling

Opt for stripped-back, uncluttered tiling on bathroom walls, creating a calming environment and a sense of wellbeing. Make surface materials the star of the show using large-format tiles and clean lines.

Feature fireplaces

Use a mix-and-match pattern to make a fireplace into a subtle, yet stunning focal point. Keep the mantel and decor simple and understated allows the attention to stay focused on the tiles.

Retro metro tiles

Affordable, versatile and just downright cool, metro tiles are a surefire modern staple. From formative designs like herringbone or basket weave, to two-tone, monochrome chevron patterns, there are countless ways to put your stamp on this Instagram-worthy style.

Tile rugs

Not of the fluffy variety, a tile rug will add personality to your next flooring project. Opt for a runner style design for a narrow space or define a kitchen area in an open plan room with raw-edged hexagonal tiling, blending seamlessly into wood flooring.

Add coloured grouting

Available in a variety of colours, there's more to bonding cement that meets the eye. Choose a bright colour with plain white tiles to add a playful twist, add a dash of class with gold, or match your grout with the tiles and say goodbye to the usual discolouration of the white variety.
