Scottish icon and household favourite, Lorraine Kelly, joins the team to oversee the Woman section of the show, where you can be pampered, watch Catwalk shows and indulge at our Champagne bar. Lorraine will be helping us to find our Ideal Mum of the Year for 2012, more details to follow!

Biography

Lorraine was born on November 30th 1959 in Glasgow and moved to East Kilbride when she was 13.

When she was seventeen, Lorraine left school after landing a job as a trainee reporter in her local newspaper "The East Kilbride News." She then joined BBC Scotland as a researcher in 1984 and then went on to become Scottish correspondent for TVam a year later. In 1989 Lorraine was asked to present TVam's 6am slot and to cover for David Frost's Sunday show during the summer. Later that year she was appointed presenter of TVam alongside Mike Morris. When TVam lost its franchise in 1993, Lorraine was approached by GMTV to present their "Top Of The Morning" slot at 8.50am five days a week. GMTV's initial launch proved to be a disaster and she was soon given my old job back, this time alongside Eamonn Holmes from 7am every weekday.

Lorraine came back from maternity leave at the end of 1994 to host my own show and has been on GMTV ever since. In 2005 she moved back to Scotland with her family and are now living in Dundee. Lorraine travels down to London from Dundee Airport to present her GMTV show.

Lorraine had her own radio show on Talk Radio for three years in 1997 and has hosted the arts show on Friday nights on Radio 2. She has also hosted Have I Got News For You, the Paul O' Grady Show and appeared on Question Time, the Jonathon Ross show; So Graham Norton and the Friday Night Project (amongst many others) In 2006 Lorraine was awarded the RTS award for Best Presenter and in 2008 was awarded a "People's Choice" Scottish BAFTA. In September 2008 Lorraine wrote her autobiography "Between You and Me" which was a Sunday Times Number One best seller. Lorraine is a die-hard Dundee United supporter and was elected Rector of Dundee University in and 2004 and in June 2009 was appointed Honorary Colonel of the Black Watch cadets.
